A Very Merry-Rona Christmas Parade A community attempt to save Christmas

11/09/2021

We were very blessed to provide the children in our small community a Christmas parade last year. A Very Merry-Rona Christmas has kept a close eye on the decisions being made in our local towns, ensuring our kids Christmas will not be stolen from them again this year. So far, it sounds like there will be some Christmas festivities for the community this year. If all stays in a position direction, we will be supporting our community and attending these festivals.

We appreciate everyone’s support last year. It takes a village and we were astounded at how many supported us last year. Thank you all for your kind words, support and understanding. If it weren’t for many of you, we would not have been able to make this parade possible. We hope you all have a very Merry Christmas this year.

Thank you all for coming out and supporting our parade. It was a blessing to see all the excitement in the kids faces. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves. Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night!

Today is the day the Lord hath made, we shall rejoice and be glad in it! Also, today is parade day!!!

The time has come and we are ready to show off our flag trucks, ATV’s, floats, side by sides, horses, classic/muscle cars, mud trucks, motorcycles, surrounding fire departments, and Yadkin Rescue Squad. This is when all the hard work pays off. Don’t miss out because today’s parade will be epic!

Don’t forget to stop by Hunter Farms anytime after 2pm to buy your port-a-pit lunch for $10.

There will be signs posted at the intersections of HWY 601/North Oak Ridge Church Rd, HWY 601/Speer Rd, and North Oak Ridge Church Rd/Speer Rd. They will point you in the direction to park along the sides of Speer Rd to watch the parade. Speer Rd will be closed at 4:45pm so please come early and find a good parking space.

Remember to pull your vehicles completely off the road so our larger trucks and floats can pass by. We will have local law enforcement and volunteers assisting in directing traffic along Speer Rd before the parade begins. We have around 200 parade participants and are expecting 400+ parade atttendees.

It will be dark as the parade is ending so please be careful exiting Speer Rd. There will still be little kids finding that last piece of candy. Please exit in the manner in which your car is facing. Everyone come out and enjoy the fun. We have room for everyone so come on out and enjoy the fun.

Also, for those participating in the parade, please be at 2003 North Oak Ridge Rd at 3pm to find out where your designated area for pre-parade parking and to grab a copy of the parade lineup. It is important you know when you will be entering the parade line. We have four separate parking locations for participants to best fit your needs. We will also have volunteers assisting her to ensure you get in line at the appropriate spot.

It’s time to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior and provide excitement and cheer to the kids and families in our surrounding communities. If you have any questions today, please feel free to call Jason Deal at 336.941.7006 and he can help answer any questions you have at this time.

God bless each one of you and may God Bless the United States of America! Merry Christmas from all of us at A Very Merry-Rona Christmas Parade.

Good Afternoon and Happy Friday-Eve!!!

We are so excited to hold this event for you, your family and our local communities. We are looking forward to seeing all your smiling faces. Due to only being a few days out from our parade, we wanted to touch on some items and offer some reminders as well.

First off, Hunter Farms will be having a Port-A-Pit BBQ starting at 2pm at their farm. This is located at the end of Speer Rd and HWY 601. The plates are $10ea and will be available until they sale out.

If you are attending the parade, you will need to enter Speer road before 4:45pm as the road will be closed at this time. We ask that everyone attending the parade make sure to pull their vehicles completely off the road to ensure our larger floats are able to pass by with ease and to keep everyone safe. Please stay at your vehicles so we don’t have people crossing the streets while our parade is passing by.

When you are leaving the parade, please exit Speer road in the direction your vehicle is facing. This will allow us to clear the road so our ATV’s, horses, side-by-sides and golf carts can make their way back to our starting point with no unnecessary traffic on the road.

Lastly, you are all aware of the governor’s orders. If you are around folks outside of who you are attending the parade with, please be mindful of others opinions and try to practice social distancing. You can wear a mask by choice, but not by force.

We are looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday. We are blessed to be able to provide this event for you and your family. Have a Very Merry-Rona Christmas and a blessed New Year!
