The Bowman House and Museum will be open to the public Sunday, May 24th between 2:00pm – 4:30pm.
The time period is 1876. John E. Bowman and his wife Margaret (Stouffer) are celebrating the 100th birthday of the signing of the Declaration of Independence!
Recently, John and Margaret found an old blanket chest filled with clothing that belonged to John Bowman’s grandparents, who migrated to this country in the mid 1700’s. These garments will be worn and displayed at the Bowman House.
Hearth cooking demonstrations will include recipes that our founding fathers would have prepared throughout the 18th century.
Additionally, we will have a demonstrations of handcrafted period skills (pottery, spinning, quilting & embroidery).
This event is free and open to the public.
