You asked… so we’re answering! 💙
We received SO many questions during the 6th Annual Boonsboro Food Truck Festival, so we wanted to take the opportunity to share a few exciting updates about what’s happening right here in Boonsboro!
1. Where’s Natoma?? 👀
From Natoma….
“So, what am I up to now that the Food Truck Festival is over?
Well… I’m catching my breath for about five minutes before jumping right back into my day job at Gifts Inn Boonsboro. We’re currently preparing for an art exhibit this Sunday afternoon, and we’re excited about a full schedule of Town events in the months ahead.
Although the Food Truck Festival is over, there is still plenty happening behind the scenes as we continue working to make Boonsboro a great place to live, work, visit, and do business.
I’m also turning my attention to my newest role as Chair of the Boonsboro Economic Development Commission (EDC).
As Chair, I’m looking forward to focusing on downtown revitalization, supporting local businesses, strengthening tourism, and creating new opportunities for our community. From Main Street beautification and business development to community partnerships, there is a lot on the horizon.
I’m especially excited about working with the Department of Natural Resources and other agencies as the State prepares to launch the South Mountain House.
Boonsboro also has two major anniversaries to celebrate in 2027: the 200th Anniversary of the Washington Monument and the 235th anniversary of the Town of Boonsboro, both taking place around July 4th. The Washington Monument represents the spirit of our community and what can be accomplished when people come together around a shared purpose.
One thing I’ve learned over the years is that a thriving community doesn’t happen because of one person or one organization. It happens when business owners, residents, volunteers, community organizations, and the Town work together.
That’s what excites me most.”
We are thrilled for Natoma and look forward to our growing team supporting the Town of Boonsboro, Maryland! 💙
2. Who was the bartender?
That would be Ron Humbel! Our BTA President who did an amazing job keeping our Beverage Garden moving on event day! We had no idea he had these secret talents. 🍻
Shout-out to Amanda for helping keep the drinks pouring, and Pathfinder Farm Distillery for providing the spirits that kept the good times going all throughout the day!
Behind the scenes, Ron has been doing a lot more than being a phenomenal bartender! He has been spearheading some exciting plans for 2027, helping shape BTA’s upcoming events, community partnerships, and the next big chapter of our work through the Main Street Maryland program!
3. When is next year’s Food Truck Festival?
Planning for the 7th Annual Boonsboro Food Truck Festival is already well underway, so go ahead and mark your calendars for: Sunday, September 5th 2027! 📰
After seeing Shafer Park filled with our community this year, we’re really excited about what comes next. We will begin reaching out to our vendors again at the beginning of the new year! And will provide additional announcements all throughout the Spring & Summer of 2027!
4. Who is the BTA?
The Boonsboro Town Alliance (BTA) is a nonprofit organization focused on strengthening the community through local events, business support, tourism, partnerships, volunteer opportunities, beautification, and community programming. You can visit our website anytime at boonsborotownalliance.com 🔗
And we have another exciting chapter beginning! The Boonsboro Town Alliance is now home to Boonsboro’s Main Street Maryland program! 💙
Through Main Street, we’ll be working year round on things like:
📣 Supporting and Promoting Local Businesses
🌱 Downtown Beautification and Improvements
🏛️ Tourism and Visitor Experiences
🎉 Community Events
♻️ Volunteer Opportunities
🎨 Arts, Culture and Historic Preservation
🏠 Partnerships with Residents, Businesses, and Community Organizers
💙 Building a more connected Downtown, Boonsboro!
One of the things we’re most excited about moving forward is bringing organizations together… the Town of Boonsboro, EDC, BTA/Main Street, our historical organizations, local businesses, nonprofits, volunteers, artists, schools and community groups, so everyone can contribute what they do best!
5. What’s next?
Plenty! Coming up around Boonsboro:
September 11th: Annual Remembrance Day Parade
September 12–13th: 55th Annual Boonesborough Days, presented by the Boonsboro Historical Society MD
September 24th: 2nd Annual Bites & Bevs in the Boro, presented by the Boonsboro Town Alliance
And that’s just September!
We’ll continue sharing Town events, BTA/Main Street programs, business happenings, community activities, and opportunities to get involved in Boonsboro!
The Food Truck Festival may be over, but there is a LOT happening in Boonsboro, and we’re just getting started. 💙
Follow along, get involved, attend an event, support a local business, or volunteer with us! There is still plenty of excitement happening right here in Boonsboro!
Special thanks to Abby Humbel with Captured By Abb for volunteering throughout our 6th Annual Food Truck Festival! 📸
