Qualifying is now underway for the Special Election for Third District Election Commissioner. Commissioner Cindi Burns resigned and the Supervisors set the Special Election for General Election Day which is November 3, 2026. A candidate must be a qualified elector in the third district and must have been a resident of that district for 2 years preceding the day of election. Candidates must file a Statement of Intent and petitions containing the signatures of not less than 50 qualified electors of that district with the Chancery Clerk prior to the qualifying deadline, which is 5pm August 20th, 2026.
