Qualifying is now underway for the Special Election for Third District Election Commissioner. Commissioner Cindi Burns resigned and the Supervisors set the Special Election for General Election Day which is November 3, 2026. A candidate must be a qualified elector in the third district and must have been a resident of that district for 2 years preceding the day of election. Candidates must file a Statement of Intent and petitions containing the signatures of not less than 50 qualified electors of that district with the Chancery Clerk prior to the qualifying deadline, which is 5pm August 20th, 2026.

What a beautiful day for the National Day of Prayer. A special thanks to Diane Guin and everyone who worked hard to put it together. What a blessing to be able to gather together in freedom and pray. May God continue to bless our city, county, state and nation.
