The inaugural Boundary County seed saving class was a resounding success! Seed saving is a skill that every gardener should have under their tool belt; this class will be offered at the end of every summer in the future right here in Bonners Ferry, so come check it out next year! It's harvest time, and we have the perfect class for those of you who want to save some money and put that extra produce to good use! Tuesday, September 1st 1-3 here at the extension office we will be teaching a class on how to save seeds from your home garden. Cost is 5$. University of Idaho Extension - Boundary County is partnering with Idaho Fish and Game to rent out fruit harvesting gear for FREE! Rent either an orchard ladder or a fruit picker stick to reach high, hard to reach fruit. Gear can be rented for up to a week. The goal of this program is to reduce bear-human conflicts in our community, but anyone with a fruit tree in Boundary County can and should take advantage of it! See below flier for more info.
