📢 PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: SHATTERED DREAMS SIMULATION 📢
The Bonham Fire Department and the Bonham Police Department are partnering with Bonham ISD and Bonham ISD Police in a simulation exercise, the "Shattered Dreams" program, on Wednesday, March 25th, 2026, at Bonham High School.
🚨 PLEASE NOTE: This is a PLANNED DRILL, not a real emergency.
What to expect:
📍 Location: Bonham High School
🕒 When: Wednesday, March 25th, 2026
🚑 Activity: You will see a full-scale mock accident scene, including fire trucks, ambulances, police cars, and possibly a medical helicopter.
🚨Road Closure: Nolan Ashmore will be closed beginning at 8:00 am March 25, 2026, east of Braum’s parking lot entrance to Albert Broadfoot Street.
Why are we doing this?
We are proud to partner with Bonham ISD and Bonham ISD Police to show our students the real-life consequences of impaired driving. This powerful program teaches teens how a single choice can permanently impact themselves, their families, and our entire community.
Parents have already received internal communication from the school district. We are sharing this to ensure the public is aware and to prevent any unnecessary alarm.
We thank you for your support as we work together to keep our students safe! 🚒🚑🚓

Due to strong north winds expected this afternoon and evening, outdoor burning is strongly discouraged. Sustained winds of 20–35 mph with gusts up to 50+ mph can cause fires to spread rapidly and become difficult to control.

Strong north winds, with sustained speeds of 20-35 mph and peak gusts reaching 40-50+ mph, are expected this afternoon and evening with the passage of a cold front. The high winds will persist well into the evening hours. Refer to the provided map for an estimate of when the strongest winds are expected to arrive in your area.

Bonham Fire Department Responds to Grass Fire on County Road 4215 - Bonham, Texas
Bonham Fire Department is currently on scene of a large grass fire off County Road 4215.
The fire has burned approximately 40 acres, destroyed 150 hay bales, and resulted in the loss of one residential structure. The fire perimeter is 100% contained, and there is no threat to the public.
Residents in and around Bonham may notice a haze and the odor of smoke over the next several days as crews continue working to extinguish hot spots and as remaining hay bales continue to burn. This is expected and does not pose a danger to the community.
Citizens are asked to avoid the area of County Road 4215 to allow emergency personnel to safely complete suppression operations.
The Bonham Fire Department would like to thank our mutual aid partners for their assistance:
• Dodd City Volunteer Fire Department
• Randolph Volunteer Fire Department
• Trenton Volunteer Fire Department
• Whitewright Volunteer Fire Department
• Faught Volunteer Fire Department
