Do not move the cones on Hwy 156 bridge.
The State Of Wisconsin has the bridge closed, not the Town of Navarino. Not due to water on road but possible structural damagedue to high water.Several people have moved the cones and drove through this will be monitored.

A HUGE SHOUTOUT to the Shawano County Highway Department and the Outagamie County Highway Department for their lifesaving assistance earlier today. Due to the persisting whiteout conditions, blowing snow and drifted over highways, all transfers out of ThedaCare-Shawano Medical Center were put on hold since late last evening. This morning, two patients could wait no longer and we were faced with two life-threatening conditions that needed to get to facilities with higher levels of care, but highways that were nearly impassable. Without hesitation, both Shawano and Outagamie Counties were all-in to help us out. Two ambulances were led by a supervisor plow truck from ThedaCare-Shawano to Bonduel where they were then led by a Shawano County plow truck south on STH 47 to the Shawano/Outagamie County line. Waiting at the line was an Outagamie County Plow truck which then cleared the way for them all the way into the Fox Cities.
It is at times like these when we see these "behind the scenes" agencies really come together and truly make life or death efforts for people they've never met and probably will never know. If you know or see a plow driver, thank them for their service!

With all this snow, make sure you keep your exhaust vents clear outside your home to prevent carbon monoxide from backing up into your home. Stay safe everyone!

In memory of Gary Krull.

Gary R. Krull, 86, passed away on January 18, 2026, at his home in Nichols. He was born on December 14, 1939, to the son of the late Russel and Eileen (Diemel) Krull.

After graduating from Seymour High School, he served in the United States Army for three years.

On July 25, 1964, he was united in marriage to Betty Kettner, from Black Creek, having celebrated 61 years of marriage.

Gary worked the majority of his working years for Tri-County Distributors as a delivery man and then as a salesman. He was committed to keeping Budweiser in business, by any means necessary even if it required throwing a few more back. Outside of work, he was an avid hunter, fisherman, and card player. Gary, however, will mostly be remembered for his story telling and jokes. He was quick with a laugh and happy to share a tale with family and friends.

A lifelong sports enthusiast, he loved baseball, especially the Nichols Nitros’ baseball team. Gary started playing for the Nitros in 1956, he later managed the team and continued to watch all his sons and grandsons play. He was a very devoted fan throughout his life. He rarely missed a Brewer or Packer game and would often arrange his day around their schedule.

Gary passed on his love of hunting and fishing to his sons and later to his grandchildren. Many hours were spent in ‘the shed’ sharing his stories of his past hunts, exaggerated or not, he always had a captivated audience.

Gary is survived by his wife, Betty, and his three sons: Dennis Krull, David (Tammy) Krull, and Jerry (Kathy) Krull.
He has 10 grandchildren: AJ (Megan) Griesbach, Zac (Lindsey) Griesbach, Ryan Krull, Juan Garcia, Santos (Tyler) Johnson, Stacey (Joshua) Helser, Kali (Wes) Baker, Riley (Cassandra) Krull, Derek (Caitlen) Krull, Justin (Kailey) Krull; and 16 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by members of the Kettner family.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by an infant brother, Randy; and members of the Kettner’s family.

Visitation for Gary will take place on Sunday, January 25, 2026, at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home in Seymour from 1:00 pm until the funeral service at 4:00 pm with Rev. Bill Schroeder officiating. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery at a later date.
