This morning, the Palmer Police Department hosted a joint training session with the Palmer Fire Department, Three Rivers Fire Department, and Bondsville Fire Department focused on scene safety considerations for first responders.

The training was designed to enhance responder safety and interagency coordination during emergency incidents. Participants received instruction on hazard identification, crime scene awareness, and evidence preservation, all of which play a critical role in ensuring both responder safety and the integrity of subsequent investigations.

Integrated training opportunities such as these strengthen collaboration between public safety agencies and are essential to the safety of our responders, the success of investigations, and the continued protection of the communities we serve.

Thank you to the Palmer Police Department for coordinating this valuable training opportunity.

On this Memorial Day is a day of remembering and honoring the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. Armed Forces. Formerly known as Decoration Day, it originated shortly after the American Civil War to commemorate the Union and Confederate soldiers who died in the War. As of the 20th century Memorial Day honors all Americans who have died while in the military service and is proclaimed as a day of prayer for permanent peace.

Edit on May 27: After many conversations, unfortunately hosting a parade on June 20th is not feasible. We are exploring alternative options for a parade this year.
-------------------------------------------------------------------
Tomorrow's Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony is cancelled.

The parade will take place on June 20th as part of the MA250 festivities.

New date for the ceremony will be announced ASAP.

More details to come!
