Chances for a significant to severe winter storm are increasing for this weekend. Latest weather data suggests increased probability of a storm system moving along the Gulf Coast this weekend with wintry weather overspreading our region, mainly in the form of snow. Impacts may begin as early as Saturday and continue into early Monday. While overall confidence is beginning to increase, exact details still remain unclear at this time. Users should keep a close eye on the evolving forecast this week!

Very cold air has settled across the Mid-Atlantic, causing temperatures to fall into the single digits to the low teens. With winds gusting at times to 35 mph, wind chill temperatures through today will range from between -5F and locally -20F from southeast West Virginia through the High Country of North Carolina, particularly along the higher mountain ridges.

Sunview neighbor and friend Sarah is training for a marathon to help raise funds for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. Please help her across that finish line. RMHC’s mission is very important (keeping families close while a child is in the hospital), and Sarah would like to raise $1500 to support it before she goes to Chicago!

$25 can provide snacks during long days at the hospital

$50 can provide activity kits to keep siblings occupied so parents can focus on what the doctor is saying
