Brunswick Community College’s Paramedic Course begins Sept. 15, 2026, giving current AEMTs the opportunity to advance their training and work toward becoming a paramedic.

Class Schedule:
Tuesdays: 6-10 p.m.
Occasional Saturdays: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.

Looking to complete Fire Officer but having trouble getting time away from work? Fire Officer I & II are predominantly online with only 5 days of in-person instruction, making it easier to complete both certifications around your schedule.

🚁 UAS DRONE INTRO | OCTOBER 1–31🚁
UAS Drone Intro will run online from October 1 through October 31 with an optional in-person fly day on November 7. Oak Island Fire Department’s new drone unit will also be on site November 7. If you haven’t had the opportunity to see it yet, this will be a great chance to check it out and see what this new capability brings to the fire service.

Lead with bravery.

BCC’s Fire Officer I and II Hybrid Classes are designed for current and aspiring fire officers ready to strengthen their leadership skills and prepare for the responsibilities of the role.

Both courses include an online portion from Sept. 7-Oct. 2, followed by in-person training at BCC. Fire Officer I meets Oct. 12-14, while Fire Officer II meets Oct. 14-15. The courses can be taken concurrently, but independently.

To enroll in Fire Officer I, candidates must be at least 21 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, hold TIMS (FIP 7000), be Firefighter I & II certified for three years and be Instructor I certified.

For Fire Officer II, candidates must be at least 23 years old, have a high school diploma or GED, hold TIMS (FIP 7000), be Firefighter I & II certified for five years, and hold Fire Officer I and Instructor I certifications.

The curriculum aligns with NFPA 1021 and North Carolina Office of the State Fire Marshal standards.

🚨🔥 25 MORE SPOTS OPEN FOR Q-SCHOOL! 🔥🚨

Need to get your Q-School completed? Were you waitlisted or unable to get a spot the first time around? We have some good news.

Brunswick Community College, in conjunction with NCOSFM, has increased the registration limit for Written Qualification School on November 10, 2026. This opens up 25 additional spots for anyone still needing to register.

If you want to attend, we encourage you to go ahead and get registered before the additional spots fill up.

Log in to your OSFM 24 Portal, select Qualification Test Registration, then use the drop-down menu to select Brunswick Community College.
