The US National Weather Service Springfield Missouri issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for the area north of Bolivar city limits effective until 9 p.m.

The warning extends southeast along the north side of town. The storm could include up to 60 mph winds and quarter size hail.

Multiple rounds of of strong to severe storms will pose a risk for damaging straight line winds, large hail, and a brief tornado today and tonight. There is higher confidence in the round of storms this evening into tonight.

Bolivar and Polk County are under an Enhanced Risk of severe weather tomorrow, Saturday, June 13.

We could have multiple rounds of strong to severe storms, which will pose a risk of damaging straight line winds, large hail, and brief tornadoes Saturday morning and again into Saturday evening and overnight.

There is a possibility more severe weather could move through Bolivar and Polk County this evening, Monday, June 8, through Tuesday morning, June 9.

Adding more rainfall to our 3.9 inches of rain from overnight could cause more flooding.

Please stay weather aware and never drive into flood water. Turn around, don't drown!

A complex of thunderstorms is expected to move through the area tonight into Tuesday morning. This complex may result in additional flooding, especially given the heavy rainfall observed over the last 24 hours. Turn Around, Don't Drown!
