It’s Berry Time! Be sure to stop out at the Annual Strawberry Festival next week (Thursday June 4 thru Saturday June 6) for good food, entertainment and community spirit. Admission is free, but all proceeds from the Strawberry Festival and other Bolivar Main Street Association events help support the mission of the association:
Preserving community traditions like Strawberry Festival and Christmas on the Canal
Enhancing public spaces and downtown identity
Supporting local history and heritage
Creating experiences that bring residents and visitors together

Congratulations to Samantha Ward on receiving the first Rotary Club of Bolivar-Zoar Terri Davis Memorial Scholarship. In order to qualify for this scholarship Samantha demonstrated a commitment to make a tangible difference in the lives of others by actively working to better the world around her through leadership and philanthropy.

It definitely takes a village! Huge shout out to all those who volunteered this weekend for the Rotary Maifest Food Booth, from the Tusky Valley Speech team to Towpath Rotary Club members, Historic Zoar Village staff, volunteers and residents, ZCA board members — and all the general do-gooders who we rely on.

What a great team - it was crazy busy! Our food service alone required over 35 people - that doesn’t even include those pouring the craft beers for Zoar and all the Historic Zoar Village workers and volunteers. None of it is possible without you!

We apologize to those Rotary Volunteers that we didn’t grab pics of. Our photographer will try to do better next time!

Celebrate Spring the German Way!

Zoar Maifest continues today - and it looks like spring just may join us! We kick off with a German Car Show sponsored by the Minerva Motor Club at 10:30 - running until 1:00 pm.

Beginning at 11:00 entertainment kicks off in the Community Center featuring music by Lulu’s Button Box Review, Gemuetlicheit Clevelander Musikanten, and Visinata.

The Rotary Food booth includes Grilled Half-Chicken, Carle’s Bratwurst, German potato salad, Cleveland Kraut, and Reinecker’s Apple and Cherry strudels.

And what would a German festival be without beer! Vienna Lager from Lockport Brewery, Rauchbier and Mt Crushmore Lager from Pilot Brewhouse, Rustic Helles and Schwarzbier from Wooly Pig Farm Brewery, and Circuit Breaker Czech Pilsner from Canton’s new Unfused Brewhouse.
