Hardeman County Soil Conservation District

Hardeman County Soil Conservation District Helping Hardeman County protect soil, improve water quality, prevent erosion, and support local agriculture through education and conservation programs. T. B. D.

The Hardeman County Soil Conservation District was chartered in September 1941. The district is a corporate and political subdivision of Tennessee’s state government and has the same geographic boundaries as those of Hardeman County. The district was organized with the purposes, provisions, powers and restrictions set forth within the Tennessee Soil Conservation District Law 43-14-201through 43-14

-223. The first supervisors were: B. Lake, A. Ruffin, W. Mask, Sr., Ed Knox Boyd, and Ray Sauls. The District includes the county of Hardeman, comprising 656 square miles and totaling 419,800 acres.
