What a fabulous 40th anniversary tournament! We are still on cloud nine from our fantastic weekend welcoming Kyler into our Friendship Family!
We'd like to thank our amazing local sponsors who support us each and every year! These companies help us put together an incredible raffle that brings in a lot of money for our Foundation and give us fun door prizes that we bring out to golfers while they are playing!
Special shout outs go to Warm Springs Golf Course Boise Idaho for being the Official Course of the Friendship Scramble for 40 years, Lou Aaron with Westside Drive-in for always providing an incredible luncheon, and BACON Boise! for adding that extra bacon flare!
We love to support these businesses right back so if you haven’t given them your time in a while please go check them out!

Our recipients have arrived to our tournament via many modes of transportation over the past 40 years! By limo, car, ambulance, helicopter…we have seen it all! This year for the first time- our recipient arrived to us via livestream from the hospital! While unable to join in person, we were able to patch Kyler in (with a couple Friendship Foundation board members) to meet everyone and receive all his awards. His mother, older brother, and younger sister joined us in person on the course!
Thank you to the YMCA, Build-a-Bear, Del Taco, and Roaring Springs for giving Kyler and his family some extra fun excursions to look forward to! Check out the photo attached to see other gifts Kyler received from the Friendship Foundation!
Happy Kyler Day!

One day to go! For our final countdown day we induct Jayden Chavez (2025) into our Hall of Fame! When we met Jayden he was a 3 year old who was recently diagnosed with ALL, and treatment was sapping him of his usual amounts of energy. The day of his tournament brought some of the worst weather we have ever seen on the golf course but that didn’t stop Jayden from having a BLAST. Perhaps the biggest hit of the day was the racecar track that Jayden noticed within seconds of arriving at the golf course and insisted on opening and setting up immediately! The giggles and screams of excitement were music to our ears!
Jayden is currently in a maintenance period of his treatment which means less appointments and more energy! His mother, Janelly, shared with us that he is doing really well and is more hyper than ever!

We will see you all in the morning for our 40 anniversary celebrations!!

Two days left! Ayla Ambriz was our recipient in 2024! Ayla has been battling ALL since January 2024. While Ayla may be soft-spoken and shy when you meet her, her true colors quickly come out! She has a real witchy, spooky vibe going on! She loves Goth culture and enjoys movies and shows like Beetlejuice and Hocus Pocus. An avid Harry Potter fan, Ayla is convinced the Sorting Hat got it wrong and that she is a true Slytherin at heart!

On the day of her tournament we got to meet a lot of Ayla’s cheer squad! At the top of that list were her parents, Amber and Aaron, and her little sister, Kaia. A highlight of Ayla’s tournament day was heading straight to Build-a-Bear from the golf course to use the generous donation we receive from them every year.

The money Ayla received from the tournament helped Amber stay at home full-time for over a year. Ayla was able to purchase a new gaming computer and desk for her room. She just finished her last round of chemo and is looking forward to enjoying all summer has to provide before she enters her freshman year of High School!

We are down to three days! Today we honor and remember Sicilee Winn, recipient in 2023. Sicilee was a complete ball of energy and good vibes! Her family and friends fondly call her “Goose” because Gabby, Sicilee’s mom, always found that Sicilee acted like such a ‘silly goose’. She had a mind of her own and let everyone know that she was going to have it her way or no way. If you didn’t get on board quick, she was the queen of a good side eye and wouldn’t hesitate to give it to you!

We were lucky enough to see this sassy side of Sicilee on the day of her tournament! It was very apparent when she wanted out of the golf cart so she could explore. When a golfer attempted to show her his golf club, she promptly took the club right out of his hands to play with! Sicilee also showed us a very sweet and loving side of her personality cuddling her mom and giving kisses and hugs to her dad and siblings.

Sicilee was in remission at the time of her tournament, but cancer returned to her spine fall of 2023 and there wasn’t enough time for treatment to be effective. She was surrounded by loving family and friends including both her parents when she passed.

Several Friendship Foundation board members were able to attend Sicilee’s celebration of life. It was truly an honor to know and recognize a girl who touched so many lives in such an impactful way.

We still stay in touch with Gabby and her wonderful memories of Sicilee always bring tears to our eyes!

Four days to go! Today we remember Ziyah Lucius, recipient in 2022. Ziyah is the third child in a large family of five! This family is a powerhouse! They went everywhere with Ziyah: out onto the golf course, riding around in carts, and getting matching temporary tattoos! Ziyah was battling a brain tumor called DIPG and valiantly gave her all at the tournament. When she did get too tired there were plenty of volunteers willing to hold her! Ziyah willingly went into their arms and relaxed her entire body weight into them…just happy to have a place to relax after such a busy day!

Ziyah loved to dance and found every excuse to do so! She adored the movie Frozen and even dressed as Elsa for Halloween in 2022. Ziyah found the greatest joy in life when she was able to just relax and spend time with her family members.

Ziyah passed suddenly while in California for treatment. She was with the people she loved most including her mom, Camellia, her dad, Shelby, and her baby sister. A few members of The Friendship Foundation board were lucky to attend Ziyah’s Celebration of Life and took home some Forget Me Not flowers to grow in memory of Ziyah and a pin that sits with memorabilia from The Friendship Foundation. She is missed by all who knew her. The Lucius family celebrates each day as one day closer to seeing Ziyah again.
