Registrations are open for climbers! We need volunteers, too! Some of you may be unaware of a new model we're trying out this year at the regionals, as well as the finals right here in Boise. It's an "adopt an event" model, where local tree companies can adopt one of the Climbing events. Your company would set up, judge, and take down your event. You would be allowed to have your company name displayed for free at your event, as well as discounted sponsorship, should you choose to do a paid sponsorship, which gets your name on the event regional, t-shirts and other perks! Please reach out to me if you have questions about the Tree Climbing Competition. I hope to see many other companies attending these events, even if you're just coming to watch! Come support our "industrial athletes"! As always, these events are open to the public, so tell your family and friends too!

Hello, my Treeple!

I'll be presenting the Tree Pruning Class again for the City of Boise on Feb 11th. This class is a broad presentation that addresses mostly ornamentals and shade trees, and is different from the fruit tree class.

A new addition this year will be "How to Hire an Arborist" on March 4th. This class will delve into proper tree care terminology as well as a bit about the ANSI standards and how they can be used as an offense or a defense for both the public and the tree care company. If any of you have seen James Komen's presentation "The Sword and the Shield," this will be similar to that.

There is a whole horticulture series available through the City's website. There is a $5 registration fee for each class (a new thing this year), but i feel like every class presented will be well worth it!

Come see us and learn some stuff!!

Hello, all my Treeple! Casey Clapp will be back in Boise to present his "Tree Identification- Common Conifers of the PNW"! Those who have never seen his classes are sure to find him entertaining and engaging! We were fortunate enough to have him as the keynote speaker at this year's Hort Expo, and his presentations were great!
Sign up right away, as I'm sure this class will fill up fast.
Also, buy his book, The Trees Around You. It's a great addition to ANY tree lover's library.

Join Casey Clapp, Principal Arborist, Author and Educator of Portland Arboriculture at the Tree Identification - Common Conifers of the PNW workshop taking place at the Idaho State Museum located at 610 N Julia Davis Drive, Boise Idaho 83702 starting at 8:30 am to 4:00 pm - Awarded 6 CEU’s

Ok, Tree Folks! We will not be hosting the regional TCC in Boise next May because the Annual Training Conference will be here September 28-30, 2026. The Regional Climbing Finals will be that previous weekend, the 26th and 27th (location TBD). We will be looking for volunteers to help with the whole competition, starting with setup on the 25th, and going into the competition with judges, timers, and several other positions, some of which require NO tree/climbing knowledge.
A new thing we're going to try is asking tree companies to "adopt" an event. You would be responsible for getting the tree ready (pruning, equipment setup, etc), running the event (judging, timing, in-tree techs, etc) and teardown.
Please reach out to me if you're company would be interested and we'll set up a time to discuss.
One of the things we've lacked at previous events and at other locations is qualified tree techs and judges. This is an issue we're willing to help train and educate on, but we need volunteers EARLY!
Please let me know if you and/or your company are interested (your company doesn't have to participate, individuals are greatly appreciated!).

Hello, my Treeple!
Saluting Branches annual day of service is September 17th! Registration opens May 23rd. Please let me know if you're interested in attending this awesome event, and I'll forward the registration link when it goes live.
I like to look at this not so much as a day of production, but a day of learning, camaraderie, and elevating our industry, while giving back to those who have given so much.
This year, we will be back at the Veteran's Cemetary on Horseshoe Bend Rd. to follow up on what we started a couple of years ago.
I look forward to seeing some familiar faces, and meeting some new ones!

Hello, Treeple!
105 of the 180 FREE trees to Boise residents have been spoken for! While this is pretty awesome, I would encourage you all to request a tree or reach out to your friends, family, or clients to request theirs! These trees ARE FREE and they will be planted for free by volunteers through the City of Trees Challenge.

Tree Requests The Elaine Clegg City of Trees Challenge is supported by the City of Boise and the Treasure Valley Canopy Network. Together, we are working to reach our goal of planting 100,000 trees in Boise by 2030! In support of that goal, a yearly tree giveaway is supported by volunteer Boise Tree...
