Some wisdom from Steve Berch and District 15…

TAKE A CLOSE LOOK AT THIS PICTURE from inside the new Meta data center in Kuna and notice two things:

1) See those thousands of vertical rectangles inside the rows of gray metal frames (there are many more than shown in this picture)? Those are data servers. Meta pays ZERO sales tax dollars on their purchase of each one (and their future replacements). This tax break, created for Meta by a bill passed by the Idaho legislature and signed by governor Little into law = ZERO sales tax revenue for Idaho from those purchases. Forever.

2) See the employees? Neither do I. The minimal of employees = minimal tax revenue to offset the lost revenue due to the sales tax exemption on the servers.

REMEMBER IN NOVEMBER who reduced state revenue by tens of millions of dollars and cut state budgets for vital services while your daily life in Idaho grows more unaffordable.

Idaho Democrats asked for the data in March. We’re still waiting. If the state is spending $50 million a year on private school vouchers, Idaho taxpayers deserve to know where their money is going.
