Today is the last day of August… so does Spooky Season start tomorrow? 🦇🎃🍂

There’s no better way to close out summer and welcome fall than by attending our LAST Bat Night of this year’s program season!

Join us at the Middle Shelter of the Discovery Unit this Friday, September 4th at 7:30 p.m. to learn from a ranger about just how important bats really are, use bat detectors to listen for their buzzes, and catch a glimpse of them flying in their natural habitat. 🌙🔉

Please bring a red-light headlamp if you have one, and be sure to pay your entrance fee: $7 day-use fee OR a valid Idaho State Parks Passport.

By the end of the program, you might just realize that bats aren’t the scary creatures people often associate with Halloween, and they’re actually just Sky Puppies!

See you in the dark! 🌚

We are doing a to the year 2000!🎥

This old educational video highlights many familiar places to todays’s visitors. Over the past two decades, our park has grown in many ways, but the shared love for this urban, green space has stayed true.🛥️⛅️🫶

As we approach the end of the season, please review the following updates regarding water levels, Spring Shores operations, and weekend traffic.

Weekend Crowds & Parking:
The warm weather continues to bring large crowds to the lake, particularly on weekends. Trailer parking spaces have been completely full by noon during the past two weekends, so plan accordingly!
Please keep in mind that we have lost most of our summer staff.
To help make the remainder of the season safe and enjoyable for everyone, please:
• Be patient and courteous with our remaining staff as they continue to maintain facilities and assist customers.
• Arrive at the lake early and be prepared for large crowds and limited parking.
• Obey all traffic laws and be courteous to other drivers.

Marina Operations & Water Level Updates:
• The middle of the docks (around slip #25) has approximately 16 feet of water underneath.
• The very end of the docks has approximately 36 feet of water underneath.
• The lake is currently dropping at 2 vertical feet per day.
• Moorage customers are solely responsible for the safety of their vessels. Please monitor water levels at the following link: Hydromet Pacific Northwest Region | Bureau of Reclamation (usbr.gov). For reference, Elevation 3055’ is full pool and Elevation 3035’ is the minimum elevation for all marina docks to float.
• The last day for fuel dock operations is expected to be August 25th or 26th, depending on how low the water levels are. Weekday fuel hours are 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
• We recommend that all boats be removed from the marina by August 24, 2026.
• The projected last day to use the East Boat Ramp is August 31, 2026.

These are estimates only and subject to change.
If you have any questions, please email us at: [email protected], and we will reach back out to you as soon as possible.
We look forward to seeing you at the lake before summer comes to an end! 🛥️
