Thunderstorms are developing/strengthening over south-central Idaho, in addition to the scattered thunderstorms moving through central Idaho. Storms may produce heavy rain, hail, frequent lightning, and outflow gusts to 45 mph.

🌤High pressure building into the area will return warmer than normal temperatures Monday and Tuesday, before another Pacific low pressure system returns shower/thunderstorm ⛈ chances, mainly over higher terrain areas, late Tuesday through the end of the week. A cooling trend will be expected Wednesday through Friday.

💨A cold front (seen by the fine line moving southeast) is working away across our area and through the Treasure Valley. This front will bring gusty northwest winds, with gusts generally around 25-35 mph observed behind it.

🌥️ Scattered showers in Idaho this evening will bring light rain, with a low chance for embedded weak thunderstorms. Southwesterly gusts shift to northwest tonight through the Snake Plain as a cold front moves through the region. Sunday will be ~10 degrees cooler than Saturday.

☁️Clouds with a few light showers out there this morning. A rumble of thunder is possible this afternoon. Mostly thanks to the clouds, high temperatures will be about 10 degrees cooler than yesterday.

Areas of low pressure will move into the Pacific Northwest this weekend into next week. These systems have the potential to bring cooler and wetter than normal conditions to the region. For reference, Boise's normal high for early September is in the mid 80s.

Showers and thunderstorms will be ongoing this afternoon and evening, especially across south-central Idaho. Outflows to 40-50 mph have been observed with strongest storms, while 20-35 mph can be expected with weaker activity.

Thunderstorms are weakening tonight, but will continue across far SE Oregon and portions of SW Idaho. Outflow winds 25-40 mph are possible. Storms will continue to dwindle overnight.
