Today was a big day. I was officially sworn in as ACHD Commissioner for District 3!
It was thrilling to take the oath of office this morning and deeply humbling to see so many people close to me, people close to the work, and people who dedicate their time and talents to our community in attendance.
Thank you so very much to Commissioner Alexis Pickering for giving me the honor of swearing me in. It’s been a privilege to serve with and be supported and mentored by so many dedicated public servants, including Representative Chris Mathias, former Commissioner Diana Lachiondo, former Councilmember Kenny Pittman, Councilmember Jimmy Hallyburton, and Commissioners Jim Hansen, Kent Goldthorpe and Pickering — to name a few.
Thank you to Director Wong and ACHD staff for organizing today’s events and facilitating a smooth transition process.
Thank you to my incredibly talented and hard-working campaign team and the many volunteers and community members who extended their time, energy, and support. It has been a true honor to share this journey with you.
An extra huge thank-you to my family: my husband Daniel and my two sons for inspiring, encouraging, and supporting me in this work (and posing for many, many photos today).
I would also like to recognize and thank Commissioner May for her service on the Commission over the last four years.
I’m incredibly humbled to represent my district and serve all the residents of Ada County. I’m excited about the work ahead, and I will carry the many conversations I’ve had and will continue to have with you as we face the challenges to come.
I’m grateful for this opportunity to serve our community again. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
