The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is actively searching for a full-time Park & Recreation (P&R) Equipment Operator to join our team!
Based out of our Headquarters Office in Boise, ID, this position will primarily operate within our South Region. Here, amidst the breathtaking landscapes and outdoor wonders that define Idaho's South Region, you'll serve as a P&R Equipment Operator, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the accessibility and allure of the extensive trail network.
Teaming up closely with our Recreation Program Specialist, you'll actively contribute to the planning and ex*****on of trail projects, leaving an indelible impact on the recreational offerings of the region. During the warmer months, you'll expertly craft and preserve trails as a Trail Cat Operator, surrounded by Idaho's remarkable views. Your work will not only enhance the trail system but also provide a safe and enjoyable experience for outdoor enthusiasts, ensuring the long-term preservation of these natural resources. During the winter months, your focus will shift to operating snow grooming equipment to maintain groomed cross-country ski trails at night near Idaho City. This role will also include the operation of snow removal equipment to service parking locations. Nighttime operations are essential for ensuring the trails are in optimal condition for daytime use, requiring careful navigation and precision in low visibility conditions.
