A reminder to seek shelter when there is lightning...
Lightning hitting a tree can cause splintering with flying debris due to heat causing the sap to quickly turn to steam, creating a quick and explosive expansion. When lightning is around, seek shelter in an enclosed building or hard-topped vehicle. Avoid trees, park pavilions or other open structures, or water. When lightning roars, go indoors!

Thunderstorms are possible today from central CA through NV, ID, and central MT. Check your latest forecast at weather.gov
