Drivers traveling the I-90 corridor from Coeur d’Alene into Post Falls should plan for several significant changes beginning this month, including:

- Starting Sept. 14: Northwest Boulevard westbound on-ramp to I-90 will close for approximately two weeks while crews complete drainage work and final paving.
-Mid-Oct: All westbound traffic on I-90 will shift to the south side of the interstate while crews reconstruct the north side over the next 12 months.
-Mid-Oct: Huetter Road will close under I-90 for approximately two weeks as crews continue bridge work.

We’re sharing these upcoming changes now so drivers have time to plan ahead!

More information about each closure and traffic changes, including specific dates, detour routes and what drivers can expect will be shared as the work approaches.

US-95 SANDPOINT BYWAY SPEED LIMIT REMAINS 45 MPH

đź‘€ Did you see new 55-mph signs on the Sandpoint Byway? Here's what's going on:

No, you're not imagining it! New 55-mph signs were installed this morning. The timing of the sign installation got ahead of the planned speed-limit change, so our crews are going back out to cover those signs and put temporary 45-mph construction-zone signs in place.

âť—The speed limit currently remains 45 mphâť—

ITD does plan to increase the speed limit to 55 mph from the north end of the Long Bridge to Tibbets Lane in Ponderay once the current guardrail improvements are complete, likely sometime around the last full week of September. The 45-mph speed limit north of Tibbets Lane will remain unchanged.

The 55-mph change has been part of ITD's plan for this section of US-95. The byway has been posted at 45 mph since it opened in 2010. A recent engineering review determined that 55 mph is both safe and appropriate once remaining guardrail deficiencies are addressed.

For now, the speed limit remains 45 mph. Please drive safely and watch for crews working in the area!
