Another great afternoon spent at the Ada Community Library Lake Hazel “Touch-a-Truck” event. The unofficial theme in our ambulance today was the importance of wearing your seatbelt. Thanks for having us!

What a great morning yesterday as we were able to participate in the Hidden Springs Truck-a-Rama event. We were able to speak with dozens of kids and their adults about what we do as paramedics and EMTs, as well as show them our cool ambulance. Thanks for having us!

Strong partnerships make stronger communities.
Ada County Paramedics and Micron Technology Emergency Services Team recently came together for a scenario-based training exercise, giving responders from both agencies the opportunity to practice a real-world emergency response in a collaborative setting.
Collaborative, practical training sessions help reinforce our partnerships with system stakeholders and ensure our responders are prepared to keep our community safe every day.

In the EMS world, teamwork and consistent training result in lives saved. It also helps when the bystander who is first on scene happens to be an off-duty paramedic. This was the case in a very serious rollover car crash that happened in South Meridian last year. One of our off-duty medics, Todd, stopped at the scene and provided patient care until crews from ACP Medic 37, Meridian Fire Department Engine 34, and Boise Fire Department Engine 14 arrived to take over. They all worked seamlessly together in addressing serious traumatic injuries sustained from the crash. After more than a month in the hospital, we are happy to report that the patient was released home. Great job and great teamwork by all our ACCESS responders, and way to go Todd, Ali, Cody, and Ammon!

When seconds matter, everyone can make a difference! Recently, Ada County Paramedics partnered with LINC and the Idaho State Independent Living Council to develop and teach a STOP the BLEED class designed specifically for individuals of all abilities. Everyone can be part of the chain of survival! From recognizing an emergency and contacting 9-1-1 to taking simple but lifesaving actions, every link in the chain matters. This class proved something powerful. With the right training and support, everyone can step in and help save a life. When training and education is accessible, it doesn’t just teach skills. It empowers people, builds confidence, and creates more lifesavers in communities.

Another day, another ACCESS Lifesaving Award celebration as more of our awesome responders were recognized for some amazing work back in February. Eagle Fire Department Engine 42 and our own Medic 26 worked together seamlessly on the call and the best part was getting to meet the patient today. Great work by all and way to go Cody and Brandon!

Such an awesome experience to see a patient doing so well today as he joined us in presenting ACCESS Lifesaving Awards to the responders who helped him last year. Bystanders and law enforcement officers on scene initiated CPR until Meridian Fire Department Engine 36 and Ada County Paramedics Medic 32 could take over care. We are so happy to hear that his recovery has gone well, and we appreciate him coming to say “hi.” Congrats to all who were recognized and way to go Sarah, Andrew, and Jamee!
