On October 3rd at approximately 12:20 PM/11:20 AM MST/PT, FEMA is conducting a test using Wireless Emergency Alerts and the broadcast of an Emergency Alert System message nationwide.
Cell phones will receive a text while radio and television stations will broadcast a test message.

This is only going to be a short test lasting about a minute to evaluate the system. A system that when needed during an actual emergency can save lives.

Do you have a plan for your pet in case you have to evacuate?
Pets are often times forgotten when it comes to family emergency plans. Make sure they too have 3 days worth of supplies.
Most shelters will not take pets. If you can't take your pets with you when you evacuate, make sure you have a plan for them.
If you have horses or other large animals, plan to have someone too look after them or relocate them to a safer location if needed.
