Happy National Hamburger Day from the Idaho Cattle Association! We’re celebrating with this loaded smash burger recipe from our friends at the Idaho Beef Council, featuring Idaho ground beef, crispy Yukon Gold potatoes, melty Italian cheese, rich coney sauce, and a fried egg, all stacked on a toasted bun. Nothing beats celebrating beef with a good burger.👇

Ingredients:
• 1 lb ground beef (80% lean or leaner)
• 6 potato sandwich buns, toasted
• 3 medium Yukon Gold potatoes, shredded and drained well
• 1/2 cup thinly sliced onion
• Salt and pepper
• 1 cup shredded Italian cheese blend
• 2 cups warm beef coney sauce
• 6 fried eggs

Instructions:
Heat a griddle or cast-iron skillet over medium heat.
In a bowl, combine ground beef, shredded potatoes, and onion. Divide into 6 loose balls and season with salt and pepper.
Place balls onto the hot griddle and cook 1 to 2 minutes until browned and crispy on the bottom.
Flip and smash into thin patties using a spatula or burger press. Cook another 1 to 2 minutes until the patties reach 160°F internally.
Top each patty with shredded Italian cheese and let melt.
Place patties onto toasted buns, then top with warm coney sauce and a fried egg.
Add the top bun and enjoy!

This Memorial Day, we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

Their courage, service, and dedication continue to protect the freedoms we enjoy every day. From Idaho ranching families to communities across the nation, we are grateful for those who gave everything in service to the United States.

May is National Beef Month, and at the Idaho Cattle Association, we want to recognize the people who make this industry possible.

Through long days, hard work, resilience, and commitment to caring for cattle and the land, Idaho's ranchers provide high-quality beef and feed communities across the country. To everyone out there who has dedicated themselves to raising beef, thank you for all that you do.
