Will Rep. Russ Fulcher ever debate Kaylee for Congress? Find out Monday the 27th!

Nampa Idaho! It's been 4 years... will this be the event where Russ Fulcher decides to show up? We've found a way to make it happen with or without him. While he is being invited by Kaylee in person, we sincerely doubt he will join us, so we found a way around that. This event will happen in person,...

There’s a lot of people finding out right now. 😬

An Idaho senator claims dairies retaliated against her husband's business due to her voting record in the legislature. Industry leaders say it was simply a free market decision.

**URGENT: Call Governor Little (208-334-2100) and urge him to VETO House Bill 516**

Please, as soon as you can, call Governor Little (208-334-2100) and urge him to veto House Bill 516—a bill that attacks the labor rights of public school teachers.

Here’s some important information about HB 516:

This is a bill that was rammed through the legislature at the last minute through an extraordinary process called “radiator capping”—a scheme that allows legislators to bypass the ordinary committee-hearing process and move a bill straight to the floor. Legislators opted for the radiator-cap process after failing to move a similar bill through the normal process earlier in the session.

Here are some of the restrictions HB 516 will impose on union members in our public schools:

-they’ll no longer be able to hold union meetings during breaks
-they’ll no longer be able to contact union members through their employer email systems
-they’ll be banned from using public buildings for labor-management communication
-they’ll no longer be able to use professional development stipends for union dues
-they’ll have to jump through bureaucratic hoops to exercise their right to union representation during disputes and disciplinary actions

The bottom line is that HB 516 is an attack on the rights of our teachers to advocate for themselves and for their students.

It’s important to understand that Governor Little has the power to stop this attack on teachers if he chooses to do so. In both the House and the Senate, over one third of legislators voted against HB 516, meaning that there are enough No votes to uphold a veto from the governor.

As we urge you to call Governor Little, we do so understanding that this governor has failed repeatedly to stand up for public education—most notably with his decision last year to sign House Bill 93 and create Idaho’s first-ever private school voucher program.

It is nonetheless important that we, as supporters of public education, don’t stop making our voices heard. Please call the governor (208-334-2100) and urge him to veto HB 516.

Thank you,

“When we were told the Governor was "unavailable," we chose to wait. We held a peaceful sit in, exercising our fundamental right to be heard. In response, Idaho State Police arrested and booked several members of our community-- people who showed up with courage, conviction, and a commitment to nonviolence.

Now, we need your help.

We are raising funds to cover bail, bond, and legal fees for those who put their bodies on the line for justice. Every dollar goes toward supporting these individuals and ensuring they are not alone in facing the consequences of stand up for our community.”

Idaho, they are going to need more than $20K. We stand in solidarity with our trans neighbors. Donate if you can. Share if you can’t.

🚨 SB 1441 & SB 1443 UPDATE 🚨

Two new immigration-related bills are moving forward in Idaho. Here’s what they would do:

SB 1441 would require local law enforcement to apply for partnerships with ICE under the 287(g) program. While there is a limited opt-out, agencies would have to justify why participation would take away resources, creating strong pressure to join. Officers could assist with immigration enforcement, by joining jail enforcement and warrant services agreement under the 287 g program.

SB 1443 would allow IDOC to conditionally release certain incarcerated undocumented individuals to be released before fully serving their sentence — but only to be transferred directly to ICE for detention and deportation. Individuals must already have a final deportation order. If they return to the U.S., they can be re-arrested and required to serve the rest of their sentence, and warrants would remain active indefinitely.

Stay informed as these bills move forward.

Public schools in Idaho are now required to start each day with a minimum of 60-second moment of silence after Governor Brad Little signed House Bill 623 into law.

This is welcome news to many hungover teachers across the state, who plan to use the precious moment to rest their heads on their desk to keep the room from spinning. Others plan to silently expel the remains of their hastily-microwaved breakfast sandwiches discreetly into the wastebin.

“A minute goes by way too fast. We're gonna maybe do an hour of silence today,” gagged sixth grade teacher Sarah Talley before adding, “Dear God, I'll never drink on a school night again if I can just make it through today without dying.”

Some groups criticize the new law as a backdoor method for requiring prayer in schools, although the majority of teachers who gave themselves one more glass of wine last night as a little treat are willing to pray to whoever just to get through the day.

A bill from the Catholic Diocese of Boise that would’ve allowed churches to spend money on certain political campaigns without revealing their donors is dead for now.
