On this day in 1945, Japan formally surrendered aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay, bringing an end to World War II. Gen. Douglas MacArthur signed the surrender documents as Allied representatives looked on.

Today we honor the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines whose service and sacrifice secured that victory.

📚Our Auxiliary is sponsoring a Back to School Supply drive at the Post. 📚 All donations go to local children in need for the upcoming school year. We are also accepting donations of patriotic books that will be donated to the school's library to promote a love of reading as well as introducing our youth to our nation's history.
