* Flash Flood Warning for...
Bergen County in northeastern New Jersey...
Southeastern Essex County in northeastern New Jersey...
Hudson County in northeastern New Jersey...

* Until 430 PM EDT.

* At 127 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 1 inch of rain has fallen.
The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 2 inches in 1 hour. Additional
rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Newark, Jersey City, Hoboken, Bloomfield, Hackensack, Orange,
Bergenfield, Paramus, Ridgewood, Lyndhurst, Rutherford, Secaucus,
Harrison, Ridgefield, Union City, Kearny, Fort Lee, Englewood,
Oradell and Norwood.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
Cromakill Creek, Bear Brook, Mill Creek, Hirshfeld Brook, Cherry
Brook, Elizabeth River, Herring Brook, Losen Slofe, Tenakill Brook,
West Branch Saddle River, Sawmill Creek, Sparkill Creek, Upper Bay,
Passaic River, Sprout Brook, Overpeck Creek, Second River,
Cresskill Brook, Ramsey Brook, Saddle Brook, Hudson River,
Hackensack River and Berrys Creek.
Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
