It has been a while since I have posted, but all is well. I have started writing my dissertation and am experiencing an unusual mix of excitement as well as being overwhelmed. I suppose this combination is appropriate when taking on a goal of this magnitude. I am looking forward to an absolutely wonderful experience and an end result that will bring about positive social change and benefit many. I will report back as I progress. 📚📚📚🤓🤓🤓

Excellent read. It's time to deal with both the United States economic deficit and a
criminal justice system that has contributed to that debt.

The costs of our tough sentencing laws have come to outweigh the benefits. It is time to reform them.

For most of us we start the day calmly and hopeful that it will end in quiet repose. There is a world beyond the one most of us know. A world that "shelters us from those that commit crimes". What is that world really like, what goes on behind closed doors, do our tax dollars really help to help others, or is it lining the pockets of those with the "power to make a difference" who will not? There seems to be a very thin line between authority and criminal behavior. Justice reform is a mandatory requirement that needs attention NOW!

The horrors of war are nothing compared to what some veterans experience back home.

Not only is justice reform an urgent public policy issue, but law enforcement is also in need of reform. Being in law enforcement today is not just about upholding the law. It also requires the police to intervene in situations that do not always work out favorably. These men and women see death up close, death of children, innocent people, our youth, and often their own fellow officers. The time is now...

Last year, 19 law enforcement and corrections officers committed su***de in New Jersey. That's a substantial increase from years past, when the numbers were closer to 10.
