The Texas Well Owner Network (TWON) program is an educational program that gives well owners the opportunity to have their well water samples screened for common contaminants including f***l coliform and E. coli bacteria. The screening of the water samples is followed by a 1-hour explanation of the results, water well protection practices and focuses on wellhead protection and recommendations for remediating well contamination.

If your private water well was inundated with flood waters, please contact your local licensed water well driller/pump installer for help. If you live in an area that was affected by the recent floods and your well-head did not become submerged, at a minimum please consider having your well water tested before using the water.

At their July 13th Board Meeting, the Cow Creek GCD’s Board of Directors cautiously moved from Drought Stage 3 to Drought Stage 2. District Staff made the recommendation based on improving
groundwater levels, recent rainfall and increased streamflow in local creeks and rivers.
