I spoke to Deborah Frantz earlier today and she informed me that her husband, JR Frantz passed away on October 9, 2025 at the age of eighty two years. JR was a operations controller (DOCO) in the 2 ACCS from 1978-1980 where he attained the rank of Lieutenant Colonel prior to his reassignment to Hqs SAC/XP. After his retirement from the Air Force, JR began his over twenty year career with the federal civil service. JR was able to attend the SAC ACCA/4 ACCS Reunion in Omaha Nebraska last June. The attached photo was taken of JR and myself at Offutt on June 28th (4 ACCS memorial bench dedication at EC-135A 61-0287). JR will be missed.

Friends and members of SAC-ACCA, we are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Fred Kemp, a distinguished member of our Board of Directors.

Fred was one of the original members of SAC-ACCA upon its creation. Over the years Fred has brought invaluable expertise, leadership, and commitment to advancing SAC-ACCA's mission.

We are profoundly grateful for his service and leadership, both to our organization as well as to our Nation.

Our Board of Directors extends its deepest sympathies to Fred’s family and friends during this time of loss, he will be missed.

Friends and members of SAC ACCA, please welcome Steve Shirley as our new Historian!
Steve was a previous Historian for the organization, and has graciously accepted my invitation to fill the role once again.

I've heard nothing but good things about Steve and his previous contributions, and I look forward to working with him!

Our 2025 reunion wrapped up last weekend! It was great to see so many members come out, as well as our friends with the 4th ACCS!

We'll be publishing a reunion re-cap flyer in the next couple of weeks with reports from the Board as well as Chairmen, and as many images from the reunion as we can fit!

A huge thank you goes out to Mary Hillman, along with help from Duane, Amy, Hutch, and several others that helped plan and execute a great reunion!

Pete Wentzler has been re-elected as our treasurer, and Mr Joe Bruch has been elected as our new Vice President. Congratulations to you both, and I look forward to working with you.

Thank you as well to Rod Berlin, the outgoing VP, for all of your help and wisdom as our VP.

Friends and members of SAC ACCA, the Board of Directors met last week for our quarterly Zoom call. We're in the planning stages now for next year's reunion (planning actually started many months ago), and wanted to push out an update! Next year's reunion was voted on by paid members and the date has been set as the 25th to 29th of June, 2025.

I want to give a huge thanks to Mary Hillman for her efforts so far, she's already hard at work coordinating potential hotels and venues, etc for our reunion! Look for an update in this quarter's flyer next month!

Mike Makar contacted us last month and has stepped down from the VP position due to some health issues he's been having. We want to wish Mike all the best, Mike please take care of yourself and we look forward to seeing you and hearing from you in the future! Mike's VP term ends next summer at the reunion, and will be up for grabs via election at that time. In the interim, the Board and I will discuss options and keep you all up to date!

Friends and members of SAC ACCA, our 2023 reunion wrapped up on Sunday and was a success!

A huge thank you goes out to Mary Hillman for exceptional planning and ex*****on, the entire reunion went without a hitch. Tours of the Notch, Westover, and Boston were a hit!

We'd like to thank Lt Col Tucker for being our guest speaker, Chaplain Dix for the invocation, and Rod Berlin for singing the National Anthem for us at the banquet Saturday evening.

We'll have a few announcements concerning Bylaws updates and the plans for the 2025 reunion soon, so check back!
