May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and Sheriff Jonathon Horton and the Etowah County Sheriff's Office want to remind you – we see you, and we're here for you.

Since taking office, Sheriff Horton has made mental health a cornerstone of how we serve Etowah County. Through our jail-based mental health program, our Mental Health Officer provides evaluations, follow-up care, and counseling to those in our custody. CED Mental Health Center partners with us to deliver psychiatric services on a routine basis.

And out on patrol, our deputies have specialized training in crisis intervention and mental health response, preparing them to meet individuals in crisis with the patience and understanding each situation deserves.

Mental health affects all of us. The Sheriff Horton and the Etowah County Sheriff's Office take that seriously.
