Free summer lunches continue this summer throughout the month of June for children aged 18 and under. Lunches are served every weekday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at BHES and Roush Park (925 W. Silver St.) through June 30. Meals must be eaten onsite. Adults may eat for $3.40 per lunch. This program also benefits our summer school students, our Kindergarten Jumpstart class and childcare!

What an Incredible Night!
Thank you to our donors, sponsors, volunteers, and everyone who came out to make Power of the Purse such a special evening.
Because of your generosity through sponsorships, donations, registrations, and ticket sales, we raised well over $20,000 to support children and families right here in Wells County. Pictured is just part of the group that the night possible.

There is still time to be part of Power of the Purse 2026!
Stop by the United Way of Wells County office on Tuesday, June 2 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM to preview all 21 purse packages worth $250 or more, plus our Power Purse package featuring more than $2,500 in designer purses $200 in gas cards, and more!
If you are already registered for the event, your preview is free. If you cannot attend that evening but still want to participate and show your support, you are welcome to stop by for a $10 preview entry.
Raffle Tickets are $5 each or $25 for 6
Power Purse Tickets are $10 each.
Every dollar raised stays local and helps support children and families through United Way of Wells County’s early childhood programs.

While at our Bluffton Rotary Club’s weekly meeting, their Executive Director, Becky Ellis, presented and helped inform incredible community leaders about their mission and programming. Sometimes the impact of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is best seen in one big smile.

Phil Swain, one of our board members and longtime community partners, recently shared the joy of seeing his granddaughter, Kayci, receive her first Imagination Library books. After her first book arrived, she FaceTimed him with the book in her hands, showing him each page with a huge smile.

That is why this program matters.

Every month, registered children in Wells County receive a free, age-appropriate book mailed directly to their home, helping families build a love of reading from the very beginning.
