👮‍♂️ Please join us in welcoming Daniel Russell Jr. to our Multidisciplinary Court team!

Retired SLED agent Daniel Russell Jr. was sworn in today by Solicitor Duffie Stone as the security officer for our Multidisciplinary Court program. Daniel was accompanied by his wife, Judy.

Daniel is a certified Class 1 law enforcement officer. He spent 18 years with SLED, where he worked as an arson and alcohol-license investigator and in community relations. He also serves as a reservist with the Port Royal Police Department, where he is the department’s chaplain.

In addition to a master’s degree in criminal justice from the University of Cincinnati, Daniel holds a Master of Divinity from Wake Forest University. He is also the senior pastor of New Life Deliverance Church on St. Helena Island. 🙏

Our Multidisciplinary Court provides an alternative to prison for offenders whose substance-use disorders contribute to their criminal behavior. By combining close supervision with treatment, the program helps participants address addiction, change their lives and become productive citizens. 💪

⚖️ Justice secured in Jasper County.

A Jasper County jury has found Tayquan Gimel Lampkin guilty of two counts of murder, assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and two weapons charges in connection with the December 2023 shooting deaths of identical twins Trajaan and Tranquan Fripp.

The first Beaufort man to be tried for gunning down identical twins and wounding a third person outside a Jasper County nightclub has been sent to prison. Trajaan and Tranquan Fripp, 24, were killed in the December 2023 fusillade, in which at least 25 shots were fired at the unarmed victims.

A Yemassee man has been sentenced to 30 years for a 2023 mistaken‑identity shooting in Hampton County that left one dead and two injured. 🚔⚖️

Career Criminal Unit Prosecutor Reed Evans secures the conviction against Franklin Radell Smoaks Jr.

⚖️ A Beaufort County jury has convicted a Ridgeland man in connection with a fatal 2019 hit-and-run that claimed the life of Redeidre Holmes.
The defendant was found guilty of hit and run involving death following a trial in Beaufort County General Sessions Court.

⚖️ A Beaufort County jury has convicted a Burton man in the 2024 murder of his roommate following a three-day trial in General Sessions Court. The defendant was found guilty of murder and possession of a weapon during commission of a violent crime.
