On behalf of the Mayor, Town Council, Town Manager, and staff, congratulations to Livewell Terrace by Beaufort Memorial Hospital on its groundbreaking, marking the start of an exciting new affordable housing community in Bluffton! 🎉

LiveWell Terrace by BMH is a collaborative effort between Beaufort Memorial, Beaufort County, the Town of Bluffton, Beaufort Jasper Housing Trust, Woda Cooper Companies, and other community partners. The $39 million development will bring 120 affordable housing units to Bluffton while also including medical office space for a future Beaufort Memorial primary care practice and therapy services. The project reflects a shared commitment to addressing the region's workforce housing needs and supporting the community's continued growth.

Bluffton's Mayor Pro Tempore Fred Hamilton and the Town's Director of Affordable Housing Victoria Smalls were among the numerous speakers.

Congratulations to all for working together to find solutions for this critical regional and workforce issue.

The MUSC Health Bluffton Medical Pavilion is a new 54,000 square foot medical office building that expands access to healthcare services in the Lowcountry. Mayor and Town Council members presented the Juneteenth Proclamation to the Bluffton MLK Observance Committee, accepted by committee member Angela Douglas, declaring June 19, 2026, as Juneteenth Day in the Town of Bluffton and recognizing the day as an opportunity to reflect, celebrate, and honor freedom.
The Town of Bluffton recognizes Juneteenth as a significant moment in our nation’s history and an opportunity to honor the enduring contributions of African Americans to the Bluffton community, the state of South Carolina, and our nation. As we commemorate this important day, we reaffirm our commitment to the ideals of justice, equality, and unity.

🚧 Traffic Alert: Pritchard Street Closure & Temporary Water Shutdown – June 17 🚧

As part of the Town of Bluffton's Pritchard Street Streetscape and Drainage Project, a temporary road closure and brief water service interruption will be necessary on Wednesday, June 17.
📍 Road Closure: Pritchard Street, 7:30 p.m. – 5 a.m.

Detour route: Bruin Road, Burnt Church Road, Bridge Street, and Boundary Street
Residents and businesses along Pritchard Street will continue to have access to their properties.

Temporary Water Shutdown: Approximately 12 p.m. – 1 p.m.

BJWSA has notified affected property owners. The interruption is expected to be brief and have minimal impact.
Drivers who typically use Pritchard Street as a through route are encouraged to use alternate routes and follow directions from construction crews. Intermittent lane closures will continue throughout the project.

Town of Bluffton 5th Annual Independence Day Celebration on Friday, July 3, 2026. The celebration will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a pre-party at Martin Family and DuBois Parks. The fireworks show will start shortly after 9:00 p.m. and will be visible from Oyster Factory and Wright Family Parks.

• Carnival-style games with patriotic prizes (while supplies last)
• Bounce houses and a rock wall
• Food and beverage concessions available for purchase
• 104.9 The Surf Jeff T-Bone Taylor
• Live music by the Parris Island "Dirty Boots" Brass Band from 6–7 p.m.
• Rick Hubbard's Bubble Stuff Show
• National Anthem sung by a local Bluffton student

Fireworks Display:
9 p.m. | Oyster Factory & Wright Family Parks
The fireworks show will launch from a barge in the May River and can be viewed from both parks.

Note: Barge positioning may change due to various factors; attendees may need to adjust their seating to ensure the best view.
