Sullivan County 911 has a new alerting system for the public. Please go to http://hyper-reach.com/tnsullivansignup.html or text "Alerts" to 423-390-0272, to register. There is also an app for iOS and Android devices, and a skill for your Alexa device. Just say "Alexa, enable Hyper-Reach." SC911 will be sending out severe weather alerts, public health alerts, criminal activity, and other emergency incidents.

Scary stuff. Please pay attention to what/who your kids are messaging. What may seem like an innocent text with emojis, could be something very serious.

Parents, teachers and others who care for children are encouraged to review the Emoji Drug Code below that was developed by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and recently shared with the Bristol Tennessee Police Department. This code explains some ways that emojis are being used to buy and sell dangerous drugs. The latest information is part of the DEA's campaign that also warns the public about deadly counterfeit pill. SILVER ALERT: A has been issued on behalf of the Bluff City Police Department for 73-year-old Rondal Wayne Taylor.

Rondal has a medical condition that may impair his ability to return safely without assistance. He was last seen in Bluff City.

He may be driving a 2007 silver Dodge Ram truck with TN TAG 7M8-4W0. The truck has a broken back window with plastic covering it. At this time, there is no known direction of travel.

We are so happy to report that June Simpson has been safely located. We wish to thank the many agencies that have assisted with the search for her.

The SCSO is currently searching for a missing 3 year-old child named June Simpson in the area of Mitchell Road, in the Eastern Star community. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt, gray leggings, and possibly rubber boots. If anyone has any information, we ask that they call 911 immediately.
