Mckenzie Fatwood Start fires quickly and easily with native fatwood from MCKENZIE FATWOOD in McKenzie Bridge, Oregon.

Our fatwood comes from conifers saturated with pitch so that they can be lit even when they're wet. We harvest locally, and our fatwood has a pleasant woodsy fragrance. Our family has lived in the McKenzie Valley since the 1930's, and we have a deep appreciation and love of this beautiful valley. We also custom mill danger trees, and salvage logs with a portable sawmill. Some of the logs we salva

ge include exotic native trees like dogwood, chinkapin, madrone, and yew wood that customers use to make everything from long bows to counter tops, doors, furniture, and art projects.

it looks like this winter may be more harsh than last, so making sure that you are well prepared for power outages, and nasty weather would be a good idea.
