Save the dates: our annual fresh paint auction, Paint the Peninsula, will be back July 13-18! This much-anticipated annual event showcases the work of over ninety local and seasonal artists in an online auction of over 100 paintings. There will be a closing reception on Saturday, July 18th from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., where the final moments of bidding will take place, which always leads to additional excitement.

Paint the Peninsula is the library’s largest event fundraiser with proceeds supporting both the library and the local arts community. Last year’s auction yielded over $50,000 in revenue and raised almost $34,000 for the library. Though artist registration has closed, artists can still get on the waiting list by contacting Leda Beth Gray at 374-5515 x 205.

Don’t forget to buy a Hannaford Community bag before the end of the month to help support the Friends of the Library!

The Friends will receive a $1 donation for every Community bag purchased at the Blue Hill Hannaford before the end of April. If you have all the bags you need you can still help by making a donation in the donation box at the front of the store. Every dollar will help
support the many programs and events offered by the library.

Thank you!
