We are pleased to announce that on Monday, April 13, the Webster County Automatic Mutual Aid District — nicknamed WAR — was officially established. Going forward, all structure fire incidents within the Red Cloud, Guide Rock, Blue Hill, and Bladen fire districts will be automatically paged to all four departments.

This automatic paging will significantly increase available manpower and equipment, enabling faster control and extinguishment of structure fires. The WAR activation will also be used on Red Flag Warning days to help mitigate the spread of fast-moving wildfires. Faster, coordinated response means better protection for lives and property.

We sincerely thank the Webster County 911 Center and the Red Cloud, Guide Rock, Blue Hill, and Bladen fire departments for their assistance in establishing this mutual aid agreement.

The statewide burn ban has been extended until midnight on April 10th and will be reviewed again at that time. We also ask that you hold off doing any burning in barrels or recreational burning during this time period as well. Thank you for your cooperation!
