From MY Congressional Representative Brad Wenstrup

Dear Friends,

This week, House Republicans were hard at work ensuring our nation’s elections are fair and transparent by passing the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act, H.R. 8281, which requires proof of citizenship when registering to vote in Federal elections. It also assists states in cleaning up their voter registration databases. I was proud to support the passage of this bill on the House floor.

The SAVE Act is an important step toward ensuring our elections are secure. Our Constitution ensures that America is governed by the consent of the people, and it’s important that our choices are recorded and honored in our elections. I am proud of the election integrity laws we have in place in Ohio, but too often states’ laws have loopholes that allow for non-citizens to vote. This is unacceptable and antithetical to our system.

Not only does the SAVE Act require proof of citizenship to vote and help states clean their voter rolls, the bill also establishes a private right of action against an election official who registers an applicant without proof of citizenship. There will always be more to do to ensure our elections are as secure as possible, but I believe this bill is a strong step towards protecting the integrity of our elections.

According to a February poll from Pew Research Center, 81 percent of Americans support voter ID laws.

Sadly, Democrats support allowing non-citizens to vote in our elections, and 198 Democrats voted against the SAVE Act this week. This from the same party whose members claimed the 2016 election was stolen due to “foreign election interference,” an accusation we disproved through our work on the House intelligence Committee investigating “Crossfire Hurricane.”

Election integrity should never be a partisan issue, and I will continue my work at the Federal level to ensure our national elections accurately represent the decisions of our citizens, not foreign nationals who do not have America’s interest at heart.

Mohawk Honor Roll 2024

On this Monument, originally Dedicated 11/11/1945, are the names of 608 Men and Women all from this Mohawk Neighborhood. They represent Our Greatest Generation who served Their Country on active duty in WWII. In Europe, in Africa, in Asia and in the Pacific, they fought the Battles: Battle of the Bulge, El-Alamin, Iwo Jima, Midway and hundreds more to Preserve America’s Freedom, DEFEATING the Axis Powers.

All but 10 of Our Mohawk Heros came home to their families, those TEN gave their lives for All Americans. Many of our Heroes were teenagers who might have lied about their ages, volunteered to join the fight!

June 6, 2024 is the 80th Anniversary of D-DAY a day when American lost 5,720 lives on day 1, landing on the beaches of Normandy. We can Celebrate their Victories because they “Answered the Call” going abroad to fight those Battles against the enemies of Freedom. They prevailed enduring unimaginable hardships to Win a War and Liberate Occupied Countries, Cities, Villages, Death Camps, Islands, Prison Camps, (We know of One Mohawk Veteran who was among those POWS).

We cannot begin to show a measure of appreciation worthy of their sacrifices. Humbly we Honor Our Mohawk Heroes Annually on Veterans Day November 11th at this Site at 2:00 P.M. We invite everyone, especially veterans, to join us in our Veterans Day Memorial Service. In past years, we have been honored to welcome Living Mohawk Honorees and their Families to Celebrate with us.

If you cannot join our Service, please find a Veterans Day Service near you to Honor All Veterans, living and deceased, to Honor their sacrifices for your Protection and Freedom. Make it an Annual Tradition for your Family.

C-5 Galaxy next to C-130 Hercules and a couple of fighters. Still blows my mind how big the C-5 really is.
