It is with great sadness that the town of Blountsville mourns the passing of Mrs. Jan Haynes, President of the Community Beautification Group and a dedicated member of our community. Mrs. Haynes devoted countless hours to making Blountsville a more beautiful and welcoming place for all. Her leadership, service, and love for our town have left a lasting impact that will be felt for years to come. She will be greatly missed, and her legacy of community service will always be remembered.

Attention Blountsville Residents and Travelers:

Expect traffic delays on US Hwy 231, from the U.S. Hwy 231 and AL Hwy 79 split, to the north town limits in Blountsville for road construction. The roadway is reduced to one lane. Watch for directions from Flagman and expect delays and additional traffic near Blountsville Town Hall as voting traffic will increase from 7AM until 7PM.

Please use caution when traveling in this area or choose an alternate route.

Blountsville Town Hall will be closed on Friday, June 19th in observance of a federal holiday.

Please remain weather aware this afternoon as we may experience possible straight line winds or tornadoes in the over night hours. Have multiple ways to receive alerts, and have a plan to seek shelter in case of a tornado warning.
