IUSA Congress

IUSA Congress The Congress works closely with the executive branch to create policy and run IUSA. Members of Congress serve one year terms, beginning on April 15.

Congress is a unicameral body composed of 62 academic representatives and residential senators. Every residential area and degree-granting unit of Indiana University is represented in Congress, based on populatio

n. Congress holds three legislative sessions throughout the year: the Summer Session, Fall Session, and Spring Session. At the first meeting of each session, Congress elects from its own membership a Speaker of Congress to serve as the head of the Legislative Branch. The current Speaker of Congress is Representative Sam Ranzetta (Kelley School of Business).

IUSA passed a resolution Wednesday urging the University to allow students participating in ROTC to register early for their classes.
