🌈Loved Loudly means: creating a home where young people feel safe being themselves.🌈

Sometimes support looks simple. It can sound like:
💬 “I’m listening.”
💬 “I love you.”
💬 “You don’t have to figure everything out alone.”

For LGBTQ+ youth, family acceptance is deeply connected to mental health and overall well-being.
📊The CDC reports that positive family environments and parental support are linked to healthier outcomes and reduced emotional distress among LGBTQ+ teens.

Young people do not need perfection from the adults in their lives.
They need consistency, compassion, and a safe place to land. ❤️🧡💛💚💙

🏳️‍🌈 This PRIDE Month, let’s remind youth they never have to hide who they are to be worthy of love.

🌈 PRIDE Month is about more than celebration, it’s about belonging.

At Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, supported, heard, and loved exactly as they are. 💖

This month, we’re launching our 📣Loved Loudly📣 campaign to share ways families and communities can support LGBTQ+ youth and young people who may still be exploring who they are.

And that support truly matters.
📊According to The Trevor Project’s 2024 National Survey, LGBTQ+ youth who reported living in accepting communities attempted su***de at less than half the rate of those in unaccepting communities.

One accepting adult. One safe conversation. One supportive space. Those things can change a young person’s life. 💞

📲Follow along throughout June for resources, education, and ways we can all help create safer spaces for youth in our community.❤️🧡💛💚💙

Mental health matters. Every day, not just in May 💚

At Youth Services Bureau of Monroe County, we’re proud to offer programs that support youth and families through challenges, growth, and healing. And we were thrilled to be able to focus on those programs this month!

From parenting workshops, to trauma-informed care, to counseling and school partnerships, our work is rooted in one goal:
👉 Helping young people feel supported, understood, and empowered.

📊 According to the World Health Organization, mental health conditions account for a significant portion of the global burden of disease among adolescents.

You’re not alone, and support is here. 💚

Barriers to mental health care are real...but they shouldn’t be.

YSB is committed to removing obstacles by offering:
✔ Free services
✔ Accessible programming
✔ Community-based support

Because cost, stigma, and lack of access shouldn’t determine who gets help. 💚

📊 The Mental Health America reports that over 60% of youth with major depression do not receive any mental health treatment.

We’re here to make sure more youth and families face less barriers and are able to address their mental health concerns with full freedom. 💚

The earlier we support mental health, the better the outcomes. 💚

At YSB, many of our programs focus on early intervention: identifying challenges and providing support before they become crises.

From counseling to family support to school-based interventions, we’re helping youth build skills that last a lifetime.

📊 The National Institute of Mental Health reports that 50% of all lifetime mental illness begins by age 14, and 75% by age 24.

Early support isn’t optional. It’s essential. 💚

Mental health care should never be out of reach. 💚

YSB offers free community-based counseling for youth and families in Monroe County, prioritizing those who are uninsured or lack access to other services.

Our counseling services:
✔ Meet clients where they are
✔ Address individual and family needs
✔ Provide support for a range of mental health challenges

Because early access to care can make all the difference. 💚

📊 According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, only about 20% of children with mental health disorders receive care from a specialized provider.

We’re working to change that, right here in our community. 💚

School attendance is about more than showing up...it’s about what’s happening beneath the surface. 📚

YSB’s Truancy Termination Partnership Program (TTPP) works with students (grades 7–12), families, and schools to address school refusal behavior through a supportive, team-based approach.

TTPP provides:
✔ Clinical assessments
✔ Individualized case plans
✔ Counseling & peer support
✔ Academic and family interventions

Because often, school avoidance is linked to mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, or trauma. 💚

📊 The American Psychological Association notes that school refusal is frequently associated with anxiety disorders, depression, and emotional distress.

Address the root cause, not just the symptom: that’s where real change happens. 💚
