🌼💛 Spreading sidewalk chalk kindness at BGS! In honor of Bullying Awareness, our students took to the sidewalks to share messages of encouragement, hope, and love reminding everyone to “keep it up,” “bloom where you are planted,” and "let the flowers remind us that even the rain is necessary for growth." 🌷☀️

Every message is a little reminder that our words have power, kindness matters, and everyone deserves to feel valued, supported, and accepted. Together, we can help kindness bloom and make not only BGS but the world a place where everyone feels they belong. 💕🌈

Choose kindness. Lift each other up. Help everyone bloom. 💛

Mrs. Moore’s students have had a wonderful opportunity to watch these beautiful creatures grow and transform right before their eyes! As we begin a new school year, they serve as the perfect reminder that growth and transformation take time.
Just like our butterflies, our students will grow, change, learn, and discover new possibilities along the way. We can’t wait to watch each of them grow, transform, and spread their wings throughout the year!

We have such an amazing group of students this year, and we know it was no easy task for our teachers to select their August Students of the Month! 🐉

Each teacher recognizes students in two categories: Dragon Spirit and Academic Achievement. Whether they’re showing what it means to be a Dragon, putting in the work academically, or making a positive impact on those around them, our students are already giving us so much to celebrate!

We are incredibly proud of the way our students have started this school year, and we can’t wait to see all they accomplish in the months ahead.

🎉 Please join us in celebrating our August 2026 Students of the Month! 🎉

Congratulations, Dragons! Keep up the amazing work we are so proud of you! 🐉

Dragons,

We cannot wait to welcome you back in just a few weeks! We are looking forward to another amazing year together.

📚 Please take a few moments to visit the Monroe County Community School Corporation Back to School Hub linked below. It is filled with important information and resources to help you and your family get ready for an outstanding start to the school year.

💚 We cannot wait to see you soon.🐉

We hope everyone is enjoying the remainder of summer break, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back to school! In the meantime, you can visit our back-to-school hub for information to help you prepare for the first day of school, Wednesday, August 5, 2026: https://mccsc.edu/backtoschool

There you will find the 2026-27 school year calendar, a back-to-school checklist, and links and contact information to our departments. We will begin sending back-to-school emails on Monday, July 20 with reminders or any updates to the back-to-school checklist.

Please know that your child's school will send you information specific to your child or your child's school closer to the start of school.

We see you, Megan Moore! Thank you for all that you do for BGS!

We see you, Megan Moore! Thank you for all that you do for BGS!

Join us in congratulating our 2026 Teacher of the Year honorees! All were honored at our awards ceremony earlier this month.

Megan Moore excels at differentiating instruction for students in the Bloomington Graduation School, using flexible grouping, prepared notes, micro-videos, interactive labs, and multimodal resources to ensure every student can engage deeply with science. Her "Battle of the Beaks" lab transformed a complex concept — adaptation and natural selection — into an engaging, hands-on simulation where students used different "beaks" to collect food, recorded data, analyzed class results, and applied findings to real-world scenarios. Students were able to explain survival advantages and environmental pressures using evidence from their own data. She also welcomes students' real-world science "wonders" — animal cloning, migration patterns, rock formations — creating deeper connections to curriculum concepts. 🔬🧬

Megan is an active contributor to the school's community engagement efforts, including the new quarterly Family Preview Nights that invite families into the building to connect with teachers and learn about their students' coursework. She contributes meaningfully to the school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) model through the Instructional Leadership Team and became an immediate supportive presence when a new colleague joined the staff. She communicates consistently with families and celebrates student growth. As her nominator shared, "Her approach literally makes our entire building better. Students who typically hesitate in science feel confident, capable, and excited to share their thinking." 💛🌱

A leadership group like no other. We are so thankful and proud of our Dragon Leadership Council students!

Join us in congratulating each of our 2026 Student Excellence Award winners!

Led by Lisa Autry and Jim Dwyer, the Dragon Leadership Council at Bloomington Graduation School is a shining example of student voice in action. 🐉 This dedicated group of 9th–12th graders represents the entire student body, fostering a culture rooted in service, collaboration, and joy. From organizing schoolwide rock painting during Kindness Month to leading meaningful class discussions, the Council brings students and staff together in powerful ways. 🎨 They also plan and execute beloved BGS traditions—including the Annual Thanksgiving Luncheon, Halloween Party, and spirited Game Nights—ensuring every student feels connected and valued. Their leadership reflects empathy, teamwork, and a genuine commitment to community. ❤️
