More Rain Chances Over the Next Several Days

- There are chances for rain showers starting this morning and continuing each day through at least Thursday.

- Some days have lower chances for rain than others. A detailed forecast can be found in the images attached.

- Today (Friday, May 22) and Sunday have the highest chance for more rain showers, as today has a 70% chance and Sunday has a 60% chance.

- Some thunderstorms may be possible within the rain showers throughout the weekend and next week. Severe weather is not expected at this time. However, lightning, heavy rainfall, and gusty winds can still be present with any thunderstorm.

- Flooding on some low-lying roads will continue. Remember to never drive through flood waters. Always seek a different route. Never move a barricade!

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Brown County in south central Indiana...
Monroe County in south central Indiana...
Northeastern Greene County in southwestern Indiana...
Southeastern Owen County in west central Indiana...

* WHEN...Until 700 PM EDT Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall. Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1257 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen today.
- Additional rainfall amounts of 0.25 to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. Road closures from flooding have been reported on State Road 45 between Trevlac and Bean Blossom.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...White River at Spencer.

* WHEN...From this evening to Friday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, Lowland flooding begins in the Spencer and Gosport areas. The river begins to backup Rattlesnake, Fall,
McCormicks, Limestone, Big, and Bean Blossom Creeks. Spencer
Public Access site begins to flood.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 11:30 AM EDT Wednesday the stage was 13.0 feet.
- Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
late this evening to a crest of 14.5 feet just after midnight
tonight. It will then fall below flood stage tomorrow
evening.
- Flood stage is 14.0 feet.
