Introducing the CCA Transportation, Mobility & Housing Committee

Curb cuts and paratransit, no-step entrances and turning radii. Are we speaking your language? Are you concerned about finding accessible transportation and housing options in our community? The CCA Transportation, Mobility & Housing Committee welcomes residents, advocates, and community members who want to stay informed and engaged on these issues.

The committee brings together CCA members and representatives from city departments for quarterly information-sharing conversations on housing and transportation matters — including Bloomington Transit, the Planning & Transportation Department, and the Housing and Neighborhood Development (HAND) Department. Bloomington Transit clients are especially encouraged to attend and share feedback on paratransit and fixed-route services. When action is needed on a specific issue, any interested members can engage ad hoc — no ongoing commitment required.

This expanded committee grew out of the former CCA Transportation Accessibility & Mobility Committee based on a survey conducted earlier this year. Respondents expressed strong interest in improving accessibility in Bloomington, and also a desire for a structure that fits real life. The new model is designed to do both.

We hope you will join us!
