As Memorial Day approaches, I encourage everyone to take a moment to remember the true meaning of the holiday and, if possible, attend one of the ceremonies taking place here in Monroe County.
Thank you to the American Legion, VFW, AMVETS, Wreaths Across America volunteers, and all those who work each year to honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country.
Please consider attending a ceremony, volunteering for flag placement, or simply taking a moment with your family to reflect on the sacrifices made by so many for the freedoms we enjoy today.
We remember them this Memorial Day weekend. 🇺🇸
This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our nation. As communities gather for wreath placements, ceremonies, parades, and moments of reflection, may we never forget the true meaning of this sacred day. 🇺🇸
The American Legion Auxiliary proudly stands beside our veterans, active-duty military, and their families — preserving the memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice and ensuring their legacy lives on through service and patriotism.
Whether attending a memorial ceremony, placing flags at gravesites, or simply taking a quiet moment of gratitude, we encourage everyone to honor our fallen heroes this Memorial Day.
Thank you to ALL organizations that honor and remember those that are laid to rest!
