Platoon Leaders Class:

•Training takes place during the summer at Officer Candidates School (OCS) in Quantico, VA
•College freshmen and sophomores attend two six-week summer training sessions over two years
•College juniors attend one 10-week summer training session
•Candidates receive pay and allowances during these sessions
•Lodging, textbooks, meals and travel costs are paid for by the Marine

Corps
•After graduation from college and completion of Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) at OCS, candidates are offered a commission as a second lieutenant

Officer Candidate Course:

Details
•Candidates attend a 10-week course at Officer Candidates School (OCS) in Quantico, VA
•Candidates are paid while attending OCS
•Lodging, textbooks, meals and travel costs are paid for by the Marine Corps
•After college graduation and completion of Officer Candidate Course (OCC) at OCS, candidates receive their commission and begin active duty at The Basic School
•Reserve Officer opportunities are available through OCC Reserve program, with the same requirements but with service beginning at a reserve location after training

Congratulations to Joseph Madden, a 2025 graduate of the University of Indianapolis School of Business, on officially contracting into the Marine Corps Officer Program today.

Joseph has chosen to pursue the challenge of earning a commission as a Marine Corps Officer and will attend Officer Candidates Course 252 (OCC 252) as he begins the next phase of his leadership journey.

Outstanding milestone today for Giovanni Sabatelli.

Candidate Sabatelli officially contracted into the Platoon Leaders Class (PLC) Juniors program and is set to attend Officer Candidates School this upcoming summer.

A sophomore at Indiana University Bloomington, Candidate Sabatelli is double majoring in Finance and Computer Science while carrying 23.5 credit hours this semester — and maintaining a 3.98 GPA.

Excellence isn’t accidental. Discipline, sacrifice, and consistent effort show up long before the results do. Candidate Sabatelli is proving that you can pursue elite academics and answer the call to lead at the highest level.
