This Labor Day, and every day, the Monroe County Democratic Party continues to stand with working people and the unions that have fought for us for generations. The 40-hour work week, weekends, safer job sites, overtime pay, decent wages, and so much more didn’t come from the kindness of big corporations, they were won because workers stood together and demanded better. We believe in class solidarity, because when working people have each other’s backs, we’re a whole lot harder to push around. We’re proud to stand with organized labor, support the right to unionize, and fight for every worker who deserves a fair day’s pay for a fair day’s work. No matter what job you do, you deserve respect, dignity, and a real shot at a good life. Happy Labor Day and never forget: everything we have was fought for, and we keep it by standing together.
