Tom Crumpler Bloomington City Council Ward 9 Tom Crumpler is Alderman for Bloomington City Council, Ward 9. You may reach him via voice/text at 3 I’ve called this community home for over 20 years.

I chose Bloomington because of the people, the sense of community, and the cultural and educational opportunities. I raised my two sons in this community. Before moving here, I taught high school English in Ohio while working on my doctorate at The Ohio State University. I joined the Illinois State University faculty in 1999, teaching in the School of Teaching and Learning. While at ISU, I direct

ed the Borg Literacy Center, which provides literacy programs to children throughout Central Illinois. We enjoy gardening, biking, and walking the Constitution Trail. We love travel but we also love long summer evenings in our backyard. We are proud supporters of WGLT, League of Women Voters, Safe Harbor, Dreams Are Possible, Beyond the Books Educational Foundation, YWCA McLean County, Central Illinois Pride Health Center, Home Sweet Home Mission, and the Old House Society. I am honored to serve as Alderman for Ward 9, Bloomington.
